Karlovo Solar Farm

Karlovo Solar Farm

Peak output 5 MW

Year of construction 2011

The free-standing PV market is currently booming in Bulgaria, where EEPro has several projects in preparation. In total, around 40 MW are to be installed by 2013. Officially approved for a feed-in power of 5 MW, the solar farm in Karlovo is situated at the heart of the sunny Balkan state. Together with its rather high level of solar radiation (more than 1,600 kWh per year) and the attractive compensatory feed-in remuneration, this results in a very high rate of return.

More information about Karlovo Solar Farm

EEPro purchased the rights to the Karlovo project, which was launched in early August 2011. As planned, the project was completed at the end of 2011. As the land has not yet been consolidated in the Karlovo area, EEPro had to buy the solar farm site, covering a total area of 17 hectares, from a number of different property owners first.
